Protection in Focus
EEmphase takes over the artistic direction and the layout of the SDC's magazine "Protection in Focus". In the first issue in the new look, 7 articles are supplemented with illustrations. Each issue will have a main colour. On the cover page, we illustrate an object related to the theme of the issue. Lead texts, info boxes and additional material pick up the different readerships according to their needs.
Humanitarian aid workers usually know before they arrive at a crisis site who is particularly at risk: it is the women and children. Often in these very words. However, the women's and children's perspective in no way explains what is really happening to men and women, girls and boys and non-binary people in the place where the aid is being provided.
In this issue of Protection in Focus, SDC wants us to look at aspects of gender and gender relations that are not usually expected or considered in the average humanitarian response: Women gaining mobility and freedom in displacement situations; men discovering how to play with children and changing their views about themselves.

Emphase reprend la direction artistique et la mise en page du magazine de la DDC "Protection in Focus". Dans le premier numéro sous sa nouvelle apparence, 7 articles sont complétés par des illustrations. Chaque numéro aura une couleur principale. Sur la page de couverture, nous illustrons un objet en rapport avec le thème du numéro. Les textes d'introduction, les infobulles et le matériel supplémentaire permettent de toucher les différents publics en fonction de leurs besoins.
Les travailleurs humanitaires savent généralement avant d'arriver sur un site de crise qui est particulièrement en danger : ce sont les femmes et les enfants. Souvent dans ces mêmes mots. Cependant, la perspective des femmes et des enfants n'explique en rien ce qui se passe réellement pour les hommes et les femmes, les filles et les garçons et les personnes non binaires dans le lieu où l'aide est fournie.
Dans ce numéro de Protection in Focus, la DDC souhaite que nous nous penchions sur des aspects du genre et des relations entre les sexes qui ne sont généralement pas prévus ou pris en compte dans la réponse humanitaire moyenne : Les femmes gagnent en mobilité et en liberté dans les situations de déplacement ; les hommes découvrent comment jouer avec les enfants et changent leur vision d'eux-mêmes.

DEmphase übernimmt neu die künstlerische Leitung und das Layout des Magazins „Protection in Focus“ des DEZA. In der ersten Ausgabe im neuen Kleid, werden 7 Artikel mit Illustration ergänzt. Jede Ausgabe erhält eine Hauptfarbe. Auf dem Titelblatt illustrieren wir jeweils ein Objekt, das im Zusammenhang mit dem Thema der Ausgabe steht. Leadtexte, Infoboxen und Zusatzmaterial holen die unterschiedliche Leserschaft je nach Bedarf ab.
Humanitäre Helfer wissen in der Regel schon, bevor sie an einen Krisenherd kommen, wer besonders gefährdet ist: Es sind die Frauen und Kinder. Oft mit genau diesen Worten. Die Frauen- und Kinderperspektive erklärt jedoch in keiner Weise, was wirklich mit Männern und Frauen, mit Mädchen und Jungen und nicht-binären Personen an dem Ort geschieht, an dem die Hilfe geleistet wird.
In dieser Ausgabe von "Schutz im Blickpunkt" will das DEZA uns mit Aspekten von Geschlecht und Geschlechterbeziehungen befassen, die bei einer durchschnittlichen humanitären Hilfe in der Regel nicht erwartet oder berücksichtigt werden: Frauen, die in Vertreibungssituationen Mobilität und Freiheit gewinnen; Männer, die entdecken, wie sie mit Kindern spielen können, und ihre Ansichten über sich selbst ändern.
