Magazine – Dossier Basel
What stories do numbers tell about Basel? How are statistics made, and where do they reach their limits? These are the questions at the heart of Dossier Basel, a magazine published four times a year by the Statistical Office of Basel-Stadt.
With issue 141, the magazine appears for the first time in a new design. A fresh visual identity gives Dossier Basel a cleaner structure through a revised colour and layout concept. The result gives numbers a visual language: graphics, typography, and colour work together — not merely to present data, but to communicate it.
The magazine approaches statistics from multiple angles. Zahlen & Geschichten (Numbers & Stories) explores what data reveals about Basel. Werkstatt (Workshop) offers a behind-the-scenes look at how the office works and how statistics come into being. Datenkompetenz (Data Literacy) focuses on the responsible use of numbers. Rounding out the publication is Kurz & knapp (In Brief), a compact digest of news from Basel's data world.
